In this course you will learn to slip cast porcelain and to decorate the pieces using five different techniques that will help you to develop or enlarge your own artistic language. These techniques will inspire you to create endless series of original work that can be easily repeated in your own studio. Exploring atypical processes of slip casting via the “Spongeware” technique will also be part of this workshop that encourages personal development and experimentation.
The goal of this workshop is to give the participants the technical knowledge and practical experience to confidently slip cast and decorate porcelain.
Materials for each participants
2 small plaster cup moulds, porcelain casting slip, engobes (blue, red, green, black, yellow), high temp industrial pigments (blue, red, green, black, yellow)
Lynn Frydman Kuhn
Lyn Frydman Kuhn, Swiss - American, graduated in Ceramic Design at the CEPV "Center d'ensignure professionel de Vevey" has completed studies at the CERCCO Center for Experimentation and Realization in Céramique Contemporaine in Geneva and at the Ann Arbor University of Michigan by purchasing the Bachelor of Science in natural resources. She has a great experience in the didactic and creative field, member of the IAC International Academy of Ceramics, founder of the "Ateliers Récréatifs" summer art program and director and educator of the "Ceramuse" studio in Switzerland. He has participated in many international exhibitions and artistic residences, among them; FuLe International, Fuping, China and the Korea Ceramic Foundation's international residence program.
The 20-hour workshop lasts from 9.00 to 17.00 on Friday and Saturday and from 9.00 to 16.00 on Sunday.
