The aim of the course is to understand the opportunities to model the forms inherent in molding errors. We will learn how to prepare a multi-part plaster molding form, which allows us to model the internal and external shapes of the final object.<\/p>\n

The artist will make a presentation of his works, which will allow to observe and understand this special molding procedure. The second half of the screening will demonstrate the creation of a specific object from the beginning to the final stage.<\/p>\n

Participants will start working on one of Zsolt’s floral objects, through an individual consultation, and later, they will create a different shape, allowing learning from each other’s work. From the preparation of the plaster, the finishing, sawing, sanding and assembly of the plaster form will follow until the porcelain casting.<\/p>\n

It will be possible to choose between two different techniques:
\n– FLORAL (the organisation will provide 2 plaster cylinders with a diameter of 19 cm);
\n– VASE TYPE (the organisation will provide two plaster cylinders with a diameter of 19 cm
\nand two with a diameter of 12 cm).
\nThe technique chosen must be communicated to the Faenza Art Ceramic Center at the time
\nof the registration.<\/p>\n

Simon Zsolt J\u00f3zsef
\n<\/strong>Simon Zsolt J\u00f3zsef studied at the Moholy-Nagy University of Art and Design, Budapest. He is an all-round artist, interested in ceramics, painting, theater and music. The study of movement is the basis of his work. His particular research is concentrated in the process through the molds or modules that give birth to a particular shape, not the programmed one. It uses porcelain for its quality of fragility which grants a sense of lightness, movement and refinement.<\/em><\/p>\n

The 20-hour workshop lasts from 9.00 to 17.00 on friday and saturday, from 9.00 to 16.00 on sunday and from 9.00 to 12.00 on monday.<\/p>\n

Included in the Workshop cost:
